Well what a day out!!!!

I booked a puffin photography trip with Andy earlier in 2015 and as the day loomed Andy kept me well informed on equipment required, reading notes on puffins and timings.

"Great weather for Puffins” I looked round and saw a bandana-crowned Andy at the meeting point and off we went to the Dale Princess for the trip to the island.

Firstly but totally unexpected Andy gave us a well informed lesson in all the camera settings required for the day and the reasons behind them with the explanations I understood my camera and painting with light more easily.

The group then went to the Wick to try out our newly acquired information on the resident puffins with good sucess regardless of experience level as everybody seemed well pleased.

Off for lunch can not think of a better view of Sokholm Island while eating my sandwiches. Afternoon session started with a quick settings recap and off to photograph puffins in flight which is a little harder to accomplish as they are a bit quick. Andy gave out some great ideas in how to track and keep the puffin in focus again a difficult shooting situation made easier by the resident pro.
